Marc Brown

FOUNDER + HEAD COACH

Coach Marc Brown brings experience from both sides of the sport: athlete and coach.

Coach Brown began his track and field career as an 8th grader growing up in St. Paul, MN. What began as a sport he loved became a decades-long passion for track and field.

Coach Brown competed at Highland Park Senior High School, continued his career at North Dakota State College of Science, and later transferred to Minnesota State University Moorhead.

In 2016, Coach Brown began his club coaching career alongside longtime friend Robert Ware as a founding member of Real Athletics. By 2018, demand for Coach Brown’s off-season development program had grown, leading to the birth of Minnesota Sprint Factory.

In addition to leading Minnesota Sprint Factory, Marc has coached at the collegiate level with programs including Concordia University - St. Paul, Augsburg University, and Minnesota State University Moorhead.

Coach Brown has coached more than 100 athletes, including state champions, state qualifiers, national qualifiers, Junior Olympic All-Americans, and athletes who have continued competing in collegiate programs across the country.

Marc is SafeSport certified and has spent years developing sprinters and jumpers from beginner athletes through national-level competitors.

Track and Field isn’t Marc’s only work with young people. Professionally, Marc works as a special education behavioral interventionist.

That experience shapes the way he coaches. Athletes arrive with different personalities, learning styles, strengths, challenges, and confidence. Marc believes high expectations should be paired with relationships, patience, and the ability to understand the unique athlete.

The Factory is serious about performance. It is equally serious about building young people.
